With fewer than 100 days until the November General Election, BWOPA-CA is calling on our chapters, coalition partners, faith leaders, community organizations, and volunteers across California to join us in a statewide movement to educate, engage, and mobilize Black voters.

Every conversation matters.

Every phone call matters.

Every text message matters.

Every voter registration matters.

Together, these small actions create transformational change.

For more than 50 years, Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA) has championed civic participation as one of the most powerful tools for advancing equity, strengthening communities, and ensuring our voices are heard. Now is the time to build on that legacy.

No two communities are exactly alike. That’s why we’re encouraging every BWOPA chapter, coalition partner, and community organization to develop a local 100-Day Countdown Plan that reflects the needs and opportunities in your neighborhood.

Whether your organization is large or small, every effort contributes to a stronger democracy.

Ideas to Activate Your Community

• Host weekly voter registration drives at churches, community centers, colleges, neighborhood festivals, and local businesses.
• Launch a “Know Before You Vote” social media campaign highlighting key election information.
• Organize nonpartisan community conversations about voting, ballot measures, and civic participation.
• Partner with barbershops, beauty salons, fraternities, sororities, labor organizations, and neighborhood associations to share trusted voter information.
• Recruit and train volunteers for voter outreach and Election Day assistance.
• Engage young adults and first-time voters through schools, colleges, and youth organizations.
• Organize Early Voting events, community caravans, and Souls to the Polls activities.
• Share voter registration deadlines, vote-by-mail information, polling locations, and important election reminders.

Through our statewide BWOPA Voter Education & Outreach Collective, we will continue providing nonpartisan educational resources, communications toolkits, promotional graphics, social media content, and opportunities for collaboration.

We encourage organizations across California to share their voter education events, community forums, volunteer opportunities, and outreach activities so we can help amplify your work through our statewide network.
