With less than 25 days until Election Day, BWOPA California is encouraging every voter to get informed, make a plan and help others prepare to participate. Our voices carry power—and voting is one way we put that power into action on the issues affecting our families and communities.
Start by checking your voter registration and making sure your information is current. Then take time to understand your ballot. Learn who is running, what they stand for and how the proposed measures could affect your community. BWOPA California’s proposition recommendations, shared in our voting guide, can support your research and conversations.
Next, make your vote plan concrete. When will you vote? Where will you go, or how will you return your ballot? What arrangements will help you follow through? Planning ahead gives you time to ask questions, explore your options and address transportation, work or caregiving needs. If you vote by mail, remember to track your ballot after returning it.
And don’t stop with your own plan. Bring five! Reach out to five friends, family members or neighbors. Ask whether they are registered, have reviewed their ballot and know how they will vote. A reminder, a shared resource or an offer of support can help someone take that next step.
Our collective participation helps shape decisions about education, housing, health, economic opportunity and the future of our communities. Let’s meet this moment informed, prepared and connected.
Register. Get informed. Make a plan. Bring five.
Your vote is your voice. Let’s use it.
BWOPA California supports Yes on Proposition 3 because strong public schools and access to health care are essential to thriving families and communities. Proposition 3 would make permanent the existing voter-approved income tax rates on high-income Californians that are scheduled to expire in 2031.
